Working as Bon Jovi's official tour photographer is a dream gig for David Bergman, who started out as a self-proclaimed "band geek" and attended Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music. When he found himself taking pictures of bands instead of studying for music theory class, Bergman sold his drums to buy camera lenses.

His career began when he landed a job as a staff photographer for the Miami Herald. From 1993 to 2001, Bergman covered news and sporting events all over the world including multiple Olympics, Super Bowls, World Series, and Stanley Cup Finals. But an assignment to cover Gloria Estefan on the road cemented his love of tour photography.

In 2001 Bergman relocated to New York City to focus on making images in the music and sports worlds. In addition to Bon Jovi, he's worked with artists including Barenaked Ladies, Sarah McLachlan, Avril Lavigne, and Drew Carey. He has 13 Sports Illustrated covers to his credit and his world-famous GigaPan of President Obama's first inaugural speech was viewed by over 20 million people. Bergman is a charter member of Apple's prestigious Aperture Advisor Board, and is frequently asked to lead workshops for institutions such as Apple and Nikon, among others.

When not on the road, Bergman lives in Manhattan and loves exploring the city with his daughter, Amanda. Thankfully, his successful photography career allowed him to buy a new drum set.
